Investing in community shares is a simple, direct and engaging way of supporting businesses that serve your community.

The minimum investment is £50 and will make you a member of LCPL, the legal body that manages the Plough Inn.  If you can afford to invest more*, it will help to fund ongoing development projects, such as introducing renewable energy; fitting out the community rooms as a coffee shop; repairing the roof and further improving the beautiful beer garden.

In buying shares in Longparish Community Pub Ltd  you will be:

  • Joining over 300 members as part of this exciting non-profit, community-owned company which manages the Plough Inn.

  • Helping to support a pub that’s been serving its community for over 300 years

  • Protecting this fantastic community asset for generations to come

  • Building a hub for people to meet, drink, eat, celebrate, commiserate, do business, raise funds for good causes, compete in quizzes – and bring more activity, life and fun into our midst.

  • Supporting the local economy

  • Creating and securing jobs:-

    • In the pub itself

    • For local suppliers (brewers, food producers, etc.)

The average investment  per member is just under £1,500.

No matter how much you invest, all members have an equal say in how the Society is run (1 member -1 vote)

“ Pubs really are the heart of village communities and I know Longparish is a village that knows how to pull together.  The Community Share offer is a great chance for more people to get involved.”

At the core of a community pub is the local people that it serves; the purpose of having a community pub is to provide a range of services much wider than just the provision of food and drinks to the local community.
